Ongoing Heritage Workshops Forgo the tendency for sloth, good friends! We offer workshops on a variety of topics. Come join us as experts teach us the ways from the past. These ways always have application to today and to the future! Scout & Youth Days How appropriate to celebrate the vigor of youth! Fun and educational activities for cub & boy scouts, girl scouts, church youth groups, and other youth groups & clubs.
Family Nights Ah, ‘twas Dr. Anonymous who claimed “Families are like fudge—mostly sweet with a few nuts.” Our Family Nights have games, songs, stories, treats, animals, and other exciting activities designed especially to bring families closer together—even the nuts. Camp Rendezvous Hearken the rendezvous--that seminal gathering created for making trades and memories for Mountain Men. Like the rendezvous of old, our new Camp Rendezvous is an adventure! Perfect for girls’ camps, scout camps, youth conferences and more, our large group camping site has fun activities, and many opportunities for programming, entertainment, and engaging things to do. Daily Adventures or current festivals and events, when open, are usually included, plus energetic camp staff who will keep things hopping and meaningful for your group. Preschool Story Time Neglect not the child, is our motto. Story Time features fun stories and games for young children! Parties It is said that in modern times parties are not just for politics, and so, dear readers, each day during Daily Adventures, we have a party! Come for old-fashioned good times and snacks at 2 pm. each day. We switch sites and themes daily so that the experience is always different and always fun. Birthday Parties Is there a more fun and dynamic place to have a birthday party that at the American West Heritage Center? We think not! Our petting zoo, pony rides and train rides are fun, but these activities are augmented by our friendly staff who will make sure everyone has a fun time.
Handcart Treks Our modern times require us to remember bravery and perseverance when we have opportunity. Only two hours from Salt Lake City and minutes from Logan, the American West Heritage Center offers 1-3 day handcart treks in conjunction with Captain James G. Willie's family. Treks are a challenging yet rewarding way for tourists, youth groups, church groups, family reunions, leadership retreats and other groups to gain experience, make memories, and learn about the dedicated pioneers that trekked westward, while enjoying some of the most dynamic scenery in the West. This program is highly customizable. Designed to keep trekkers safe, maximize enjoyment, and reduce the amount of time commitment from the individual groups' leaders, all will enjoy the experience to the fullest. Building Rentals, Weddings, and MORE In our travels, we have always found the need for shelter, comfort and good times. If you require a place to hold your conference, wedding, family reunion or other meeting, look no further, dear reader! Our buildings, with a vintage look (yet modern facilities) are nestled at the base of the majestic Wellsville Mountains. Your activity or event can include wagon rides, train rides and more. We can recommend caterers, entertainment, and other activities. In the winter, our whole site becomes magical with holiday lights and décor and is the perfect place for your party or retreat. Come ride our new train!
